Isaiah 55:6 – Seek the LORD While He May Be Found

Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
Isaiah 55:6

Dear Friends,

My notes on Isaiah 55 are not quite ready yet, so I thought I would instead comment on the drone strike that took out Qasem Soleimani and some others in Bagdad today. I believe this event has a prophetic aspect that relates directly to the Magog prophecy in Ezekiel 38, 39. Allow me to summarize:

In past notes, I have highlighted alliances between Russia (Magog), Iran (Persia), Turkey (Togarmah), and Germany (Gomer). These alliances were prophesied thousands of years ago by the prophet Ezekiel. To see them forming in our day is, I believe, much more than mere coincidence. The conflict in Syria has placed both Russia and Iran right on Israel’s doorstep. The competition that exists between these powers and Israel because of their respective natural-gas pipeline projects fits perfectly with what Ezekiel wrote about them attacking Israel to take a great spoil (Ez 38:13). Last weekend, Russia began joint military exercises together with Iran and China in the Gulf region. Russia and Iran (Magog and Persia) are both, of course, key players in the Ezekiel prophecy. China is not mentioned in the Magog prophecy, but their participation is significant for other reasons. So to sum up, the chess pieces have been positioning into what looks like a possible Magog scenario for quite some time now, which brings us to today’s events.

One thing that everybody agrees on is that the Bagdad strike was a very bold move by President Trump and will almost certainly provoke a reaction from Iran. I think it’s fair to say that there is no going back to the negotiating table with Iran at this point. Iran undoubtedly considers the strike an act of war. Given the alliance between the US and Israel, today’s events have brought us one step closer to the Magog scenario. All this is especially significant because many prophecy teachers, myself included, feel the rapture of the church will take place right around the same time—either before or after—the fulfillment of Ezekiel 38, 39. I am not saying that the rapture is about to happen (of course). I have no way of knowing when Ezekiel 38, 39 or the rapture will take place. I am saying this situation bears watching.

Father, help us to be about your business and to work while it is day. We know the night must come when no man can work, so help us to make the most of the time we have. Help us to be ready for your Son when You send Him for us. Draw us close to You, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
