Dear Friends,
This week, John begins the first chapter of his Gospel by starting at the beginning. Jesus is Alpha and Omega. Everything begins and ends with Jesus.
Father, give us understanding as we read thy word, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
John 1:1-3
In the beginning means our beginning, ie the beginning of the world (v 3). Our world began when Jesus created it. Jesus, the Word (John 1:14), did not have a beginning. His goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting (Mic 5:2). Genesis 1:1 says In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Based on these first three verses of John’s Gospel, we could amplify Genesis 1:1 to read In the beginning, [Jesus] created the heaven and the earth. Ephesians 3:9 says God … created all things by Jesus Christ. (KJV)
Jesus’ name, the Word, speaks volumes about Him. Everything begins with words. Words are the building blocks of thoughts. Thoughts lead to relationships, which lead to families, which create communities. Thoughts lead to inventions, which in turn lead to progress in science, technology, engineering, and math.
In 1752, Benjamin Franklin tied a key to a kite to conduct an experiment which sparked a technological revolution. Franklin then used his printing press to tell the world about his experiment, using words, of course. Around this time, George Whitfield wrote Franklin a letter. Using words, Whitfield implored Franklin to consider the new birth (John 3) as carefully as he considered his electrical experiments. As far as we know, Benjamin Franklin died in his sins. He never received the Word as his personal Saviour. Whitfield, on the other hand, is with the Word now and for all eternity. I expect to meet him someday.
We know from Genesis 1 that Jesus used words to speak our world into existence. Words are powerful, especially God’s words. The effect that the word of God has had on Western culture cannot be overstated. Despite many varied and ruthless attempts to wipe out all traces of God’s word, some 5200 ancient manuscripts survived (see here, here, here, and here), eventually giving birth to the Reformation. The invention of movable type transformed Europe by giving the common man the Bible in his own language. The Dark Ages thus gave way to the light of an era of new learning. Rome was fit to be tied. They tried to thwart the publication of the King James Bible by attempting to assassinate King James himself. However, their Gunpowder Plot was discovered and their agent, Guy Fawkes, was hanged along with his co-conspirators. Guy Fawkes is still burned in effigy every year in England on Guy Fawkes Night. Guy Fawkes was anything but the hero that modern pop culture has made him out to be—like in the comic-book movie V for Vendetta, for example. England gave the world two great gifts: 1.) Common Law. 2.) The King James Bible. Both these gifts were major blows to Rome and her power, and both were based on words—words that conveyed ideas that changed the world. At that time (and even today) Rome kept people in the dark through the worship of ‘sacred images’. The Bible was on the Index Librorum Prohibitorum, ie the forbidden-book list. Satan has always tried to steer people towards images and away from the word. From the founding of America, words were used for both good and evil, but the real trouble started when the technological revolution that Franklin started reached the point where we began communicating using images more so than words.
In the Colonies and then later in the US, the Bible was the primary textbook used in public schools for centuries. The New England Primer was widely used as well, and its teaching was centered around the Bible. The Primer taught the history of the Reformation, the Inquisition, and emphasized the importance of committing one’s life to Christ. (This was a primer, mind you; this is what was used to teach children to read until around 1900.) Our Christian word-based culture created the most prosperous and freedom-loving country in the history of the world. Slavery and other problems still had to be conquered, of course, and they were … using the word. It was the Christians who fought to end slavery. They cared enough to fight because of what they read in the word. Although Harriet Tubman could not read, she was nevertheless a devout Christian, just like all of the other abolitionists. America did not start slavery, but we ended it. Word.
But then something happened. The technological revolution that Franklin started with his electricity experiment reached the point where color images could easily be printed in elementary-school textbooks instead of black and white text (words). Instead of families reading the Bible together, they watched images on a TV screen. Then, computer monitors conveying images began replacing books all together. Once the computer monitors and TV screens proliferated to the point where each family member could have one, they all went into separate rooms to look at their screens by themselves. This is one of the many things that has contributed to the destruction of the family unit.
Once we transitioned from a word-based culture to an image-based culture, we lost the underpinnings that made us a great nation. Now that cursive is no longer taught in school, not to mention the Bible or advanced English, many students graduate without any real understanding of words or how to use them. Yet they are very adept with image-based technology that favors emojis, avatars, and videos over words. Our culture is therefore devolving into another dark age. Since words are the building blocks of thoughts, a nation that does not have a good understanding of words and finds them to be tedious does not know how to think. That is why so many are willing to accept the COVID con. For many, it has become a cult. Just yesterday, I drove by a Branch Covidian who was wearing his mask in his car while driving by himself. In case you have not heard, the masks are a hoax. Just as the Jehovah’s Witnesses have killed countless children by denying them life-saving blood transfusions because of their false beliefs, the Cult of COVID kills children because of false beliefs as well. This is the fault of policymakers and the media, who have whipped up fear in the minds of the public which has in turn led to worldwide hysteria. Since 90% of PCR positive test results are false positives according to the New York Times, only 10% of the deaths blamed on COVID can be considered a valid statistic. The official number for US COVID deaths as of today from the CDC is 222,447, meaning the real number is somewhere around 22,244. Even in those cases, the true cause of death may have been something else, but COVID is almost always listed as the cause when there is a positive test result. (A couple of months ago, the CDC admitted that only 10,000 people had died of COVID alone.) And yet, even in cases where COVID was the cause, those numbers were unnecessarily inflated by governors who forced COVID patients into nursing homes, literally killing our senior citizens. For most of us, COVID is nothing to worry about according to the BBC. Even though they admit “the overwhelming majority of people do recover from Covid and it is often a mild disease,” the BBC article claims that the case fatality rate (CFR) for COVID is much higher than the flu. However, a Stanford Medical School study has shown the CFR to be similar for both COVID and the flu. Whoever you decide to believe, becoming an obsessive-compulsive mysophobe is not the answer. Sweden had no lockdown, yet still has a lower mortality rate than the UK, Spain, and Italy. That is why the new narrative focuses on ‘cases’ which really are not cases at all, or at least somewhere around 90% of them aren’t, according to the NYT. Instead of giving in to fear, focus on strengthening your immune system.
The loss of our word-based cognitive skills is also why the words of our sacred Constitution with its cherished Bill of Rights have been cast aside. The brave men and women who died so we could have our freedoms have been forgotten, but God has not forgotten. The word of God says the day is coming soon when Jesus will split the sky. John saw this event and wrote about it in the Revelation:
….And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
….His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
….And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
Revelation 19:11-13
Every dispensation in the Bible ends in apostasy. We have reached that time in our current dispensation, indicating that Jesus will be coming soon. What then shall we do in the meantime? Speaking through the prophet Jeremiah, the Word has a message for us:
….Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?
….Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD, that steal my words every one from his neighbour.
Jeremiah 23:29, 30
Did you know that many words have been stolen out of our modern Bible versions? Did you know that the new versions are based on Rome’s corrupt manuscript, Codex Vaticanus? Read your Bible and use the King James Version. There is power in the word of God. God’s word is like a hammer. God’s word is like fire. Jesus is the Word of God.
Father, thank You for keeping your promise to preserve your word. Thank You for all of the other precious promises contained in your word. Please put a thirst in our hearts for your word, that we may tremble at your word and hide it in our hearts that we might not sin against Thee. Thank You Father, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
PS: Everything I wrote about in Where Did All the People GO? and Dragon Slayer Jesus Christ, as well as on this blog, is coming to a head right now before our very eyes. However, none of it matters if you do not know the Word. The way you get to know Him is by reading his word. If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
