John 13:20-38 – Love One Another: The Upper Room Discourse Part 2

Dear Friends,

In our last post, Jesus began his Upper Room Discourse after his Last Supper. Although John does not record the events of the Last Supper, in Chapter 7 he recorded the words of Jesus that explain the meaning of Holy Communion: See here and here. After the supper was ended, Jesus washed the feet of the disciples. He then quoted Psalm 41:9, as He prepared to make a startling announcement: One of them is going to betray Him.

Father, give us understanding as we continue in your precious word, which is more than our necessary food, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

John 13:20-38
20 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.

Speaking through the prophet Jeremiah, God said I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied (Jer 23:21). John said that if you receive a false prophet or even wish him God speed it makes you a partaker of his evil deeds. (2 John 11) This places a tremendous amount of responsibility on us to discern who was sent by God and who was not, but Jesus assures us that we who are his will know his voice. (John 10)

21 When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.
22 Then the disciples looked one on another, doubting of whom he spake.
23 Now there was leaning on Jesus’ bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved. [John refers to himself this way five times in his Gospel.]
24 Simon Peter therefore beckoned to him, that he should ask who it should be of whom he spake.
25 He then lying on Jesus’ breast saith unto him, Lord, who is it?
26 Jesus answered, He it is, to whom I shall give a sop, when I have dipped it. And when he had dipped the sop, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon.
27 And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly.

There is an entry in Martin Luther’s journal that says he woke up startled one night, to find Satan looming next to his bed. Luther said, ‘Oh, it’s only you’ (loose paraphrase) and went back to sleep. Luther understood that Satan is only a created being who could not harm him without obtaining permission from God. (Job 1; 2; Ez 28:13, 15; 1 John 4:4)

Although Judas had already made the deal with the Pharisees and although Satan had possessed Judas, Jesus was still in control. Jesus allowed Judas to make his own free-will decision, but now He tells Judas it’s time. Time to go and do what he decided to do.

28 Now no man at the table knew for what intent he spake this unto him.
29 For some of them thought, because Judas had the bag, that Jesus had said unto him, Buy those things that we have need of against the feast; or, that he should give something to the poor.
30 He then having received the sop went immediately out: and it was night.

Curious that none of the other disciples suspected Judas, is it not? Are we any different though? There is an abundance of harlot churches preaching new world order doctrine, and no lack of parishioners in these pews. Oftentimes, even born-again Christians do not recognize that the occupants of these pulpits are wolves in sheep’s clothing. We should pray for discernment. (Rev 3:18) Jesus said Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

31 ¶ Therefore, when he was gone out, Jesus said, Now is the Son of man glorified, and God is glorified in him.
32 If God be glorified in him, God shall also glorify him in himself, and shall straightway glorify him.
33 Little children, yet a little while I am with you. Ye shall seek me: and as I said unto the Jews, Whither I go, ye cannot come; so now I say to you.
34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
36 ¶ Simon Peter said unto him, Lord, whither goest thou? Jesus answered him, Whither I go, thou canst not follow me now; but thou shalt follow me afterwards.

Peter is often faulted for following afar off after Jesus was arrested, but here Jesus tells him not to follow at all. Jesus knew what would happen when He was arrested (Zec 13:7; Matt 26:31); He therefore said that where He was going, Peter could not follow. However, knowing that Peter would try to follow Him anyway, Jesus tells Peter that he is going to deny Him. (He then told him not to let his heart be troubled. More on this in our next post.)

37 Peter said unto him, Lord, why cannot I follow thee now? I will lay down my life for thy sake.
38 Jesus answered him, Wilt thou lay down thy life for my sake? Verily, verily, I say unto thee, The cock shall not crow, till thou hast denied me thrice.
John 13:20-38

Jesus began by saying if we receive those who He sends, we receive both Him and his Father. In verses 34 and 35, Jesus tells us how to discern whether someone has indeed been sent by Him. You can tell by their love. Love is the first fruit of the Spirit listed in Galatians 5. It could be argued that all the other fruits flow from the fruit of love. Jesus also said Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Love is something that can be feigned, however. Judas had everyone fooled, right up until he betrayed Jesus with a kiss. In order to have discernment and make wise decisions concerning love, we need to be fruit inspectors. I believe we should always err on the side of grace with the common people, but when it comes to church leaders we need to be more rigid. This was the pattern that Jesus followed. Pastors need to be held to a higher standard. (Jam 3:1) As for the rest of us, this is our new commandment. 34 and 35 are the key verses in this section. The old covenant said love thy neighbor as thyself (Lev 19:18), but Jesus said that we are to love one another as I have loved you. It is not a suggestion. It’s a commandment. John 13:34, 35 need to be memorized, often repeated, then implemented. (Matt 19:26; Phil 4:13)

Prophecy Update: In verse 19, Jesus emphasized the importance of prophecy. Jesus said He told them that one of them would betray Him to increase their faith when it came to pass. A good understanding of prophecy is of paramount importance, not only to understand what is happening in our world in these last days, but to increase our faith. Ukraine, which has been front and center in the news for the last month, is going to be the first country in the world to have a universal ID app linked to a vaccine passport and social credit scores. This is the Great Reset being implemented. This new form of ID will spread around the globe and eventually lead to what Bible prophecy calls the mark of the beast. Meanwhile, school districts are requiring EKGs as part of the physical for high school sports, since the shots are causing heart attacks in high school athletes. Yet despite this elephant in the room, nobody wants to state the obvious: That the shots are killing people and those who forced them on us should be prosecuted for crimes against humanity. Instead, they just pretend that everything is normal. They make up new reasons why people are dying and create new names for health conditions that did not exist before the shots, like Post-COVID Stress Syndrome, Excessive Grief Disorder (over the loss of loved ones), and even ‘Winter Vagina’. If a pastor tries to justify the shots that is not love (v 35). At best, it shows he has no discernment. It may even be an indication that he is a Judas. These things may sound troubling, but they do not have to be if you have them in their proper perspective. Father, we know and believe that You are in control. We know and believe that You are going to send your Son soon to take us home. We know and believe He is making all things new. Help us to love one another and get ready. Come quickly Lord Jesus, in your holy and precious name. Amen.

John 13:1-19 – Jesus loves to the End: The Upper Room Discourse Part 1

Dear Friends,

In this post, we begin a new section in John’s Gospel, Jesus’ final instructions to his disciples before his death and resurrection. Jesus begins this intimate teaching with his disciples in the upper room where He had his last supper (Mark 14:15). This meal was the traditional Passover Seder (Matt 26:17ff). The Seder begins with the words, “Why is this night different from all other nights?” The disciples probably answered that question in the same way Jews do today: Because we were slaves in Egypt, but the LORD brought us forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm. As Christians, however, we know that Jesus delivered us with both arms outstretched, and with both hands nailed to a cross. After they leave the upper room, they will make their way to the Mount of Olives as Jesus continues the discourse. We will be looking at John 13-17 as one unified message, commonly known as The Upper Room Discourse. These five chapters, although they cover only a few short hours, contain about half of the red-letter verses in John’s Gospel. This is where Jesus’ most transformational and earth-shattering instructions are given. The Upper Room Discourse has been called ‘the Holy of Holies of Scripture’. Jesus always saves the best for last.

Father, we are living in unprecedented times, watching as many of the things your Son gave as indicators to mark his Second Coming are transpiring before our very eyes. We know and believe that You are more than able to protect us and supply all our need according to your riches and glory in Christ Jesus. As we begin this new section in your precious word, help us to lift out all that You have to say to us. We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

John 13:1-19
1 Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come [cf John 7:30; 12:23, 27] that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end.

Jesus said [L]o, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Jesus will never leave us or forsake us. He is the one Person you can always depend on. Knowing He will soon be crucified, He is focusing on his disciples and his final instructions for them. That is loving unto the end.

2 And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray him;

John is the only gospel writer not to include the last supper. John focuses more on Jesus’ words than the events of the gospel. John therefore picks up after the supper has ended.

3 Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he was come from God, and went to God;
4 He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself.
5 After that he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded.

Jesus could have sent Judas away before the meal, or before the foot washing, but He is loving his enemy, even as He commands us to love our enemies (Matt 5:44). He is leading by example (v 15).

6 Then cometh he to Simon Peter: and Peter saith unto him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet?
7 Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter.
8 Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me. [Cf John 15:3-5]

To be effective servants of Christ, we need to let Him minister to us, then work through us as we minister to others. Peter does not understand what Jesus is doing, but he will understand later (1 Pet 5:5-7).

9 Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head.
10 Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all.

Peter is confused. Jesus is telling them that they are clean because they are washed by the word. (Ps 119:9; John 15:3; 1 Cor 6:11; Eph 5:26; Tit 3:5) Jesus chose this time to tell them this because He is about to go to the cross, thus fulfilling the promises in the word. They did not need the foot-washing to cleanse their souls. That was not the purpose of the lesson. Jesus did not need to give Peter a sponge bath. They were already clean, but not Judas.

11 For he knew who should betray him; therefore said he, Ye are not all clean.
12 So after he had washed their feet, and had taken his garments, and was set down again, he said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you?
13 Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.
14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another’s feet.
15 For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.
16 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.
17 If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.

James wrote be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. Does that mean we are to literally wash each other’s feet? Some Christians think so. When I am at a meeting where some brother wants to wash my feet, I let him do it, but I do not think that is necessarily what this means in 21st century America. The rule of thumb I was taught is that if a gospel practice is also recorded in the Book of Acts and the epistles, we should continue it in our church services. This would apply to the Lord’s supper, for example. Foot washing, however, does not meet these criteria. This was an object lesson. Paul was not in the upper room for the foot-washing, but he understood Jesus’ object lesson perfectly (Phil 2). If we are to do what Jesus said when we serve others, the lower and more humble the task, the better. (Jam 4:10) It might be more practical today to wash someone’s dishes (or maybe his bedpan) than his feet.

However, when I first arrived in India in 2014, I was having trouble garnering interest in the gospel from the local people. My usual method of open-air ministry, leading worship on the guitar and then preaching and teaching, was falling flat. Then a fellow missionary emailed me and suggested I try foot washing. There were plenty of homeless people with dirty feet so I figured it was worth a try. To my amazement, the first time I started washing someone’s feet, a crowd immediately gathered to watch what I was doing. Those who had their feet washed appreciated it very much. When I was finished washing feet, everyone listened attentively as I taught the Bible. The doors to their hearts were unlocked and many received Christ as their personal Saviour. This made me happy, just as Jesus promised it would. So yes, there are still places where literal foot-washing is practical. In India, the caste system is very much ingrained into the culture, even today. The Sanskrit word for caste, varna, literally means ‘color’. The highest caste in India is the Brahman caste, the ones with the lightest skin. The lowest caste, the Dalits, have the darkest skin. To see a white man washing the feet of homeless people was a curious sight that caught the attention of passers-by. This may sound strange if you live in the West where many people no longer see color, but to them it was a big deal. In the West we still do, however, treat people very differently depending on how much money they have. Jesus wants us to be servants to all, regardless of money or social status (Jam 2:1-9). He led by example and played the role of a servant.

18 ¶ I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me hath lifted up his heel against me.
19 Now I tell you before it come, that, when it is come to pass, ye may believe that I am he.
John 13:1-19

So again, Jesus begins his discourse with an object lesson. Jesus was not merely performing a service for the disciples; He was teaching them to have servants’ hearts and to be servants of all. This lesson is for all of us but perhaps especially for pastors. ‘Minister’ literally means ‘servant’. Therefore, a pastor should be the one to serve others, not vice versa. If it sounded like I was speaking disparagingly of the Indian culture above, consider this American anecdote: Back in the early days of Calvary Chapel, when hippies started coming to their little church, many of the congregants protested to the pastor, Chuck Smith. They complained that these young people were attending services with no shoes and ruining the new carpet. The next week before church, Chuck was at the front door washing the feet of the hippies before they entered the building. It is said the hippies liked it and eventually they even started wearing shoes to church. So yes, America has stuck-up religious people just like everywhere else. (This story took place around the time of the Civil Rights Movement, mind you, when much of America was still segregated.) If you’re not satisfied with my explanation of the foot-washing as Jesus merely leading by example (v 15), here is the deeper spiritual meaning: Our feet are where our sandals are (Eph 6:15). Our walk needs to be cleansed by the water of the word for our gospel to be effective. By applying the word to our hearts, Jesus applies the blood to our souls. That is why the water turned to blood in the Exodus (Ex 7:20). The gospel needs to be used when evangelizing. To be effective, we have to keep our feet clean. If we are going to win souls for Christ, we need to let Him wash us, and our feet in particular. That means abiding in the word and using our Christian bar of soap — 1 John 1:9.

In verse 18, Jesus quotes Psalm 41:9, David’s account of his betrayal by Ahithophel. When Jesus read Psalm 41 (cf Ps 55), He knew it was an allegory of how Judas would betray Him. Judas hung himself just as Ahithophel did. He also knew that despite his betrayal, Judas would not triumph over Him (Ps 41:11). When Jesus read the story of Joseph, He knew it was an allegory of how He would be betrayed by his half-brothers, ie us. He also knew that He would be exalted to rule over his brethren just as Joseph was. Jesus may have thought on Psalm 40:7, 8 as the time of the cross drew near: Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me, I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart. The word is all about the Word, ie Jesus (John 1:14 et al). If you knew you were about to be crucified, what would you be doing? John’s Gospel not only emphasizes Jesus’ deity, but also his humility. In Jesus’ last hours He washed the feet of Judas and the other disciples, ie the one who would betray Him and the ones who would forsake Him and flee. (Mark 14:50) He did this even as the disciples were arguing over who would be the greatest. (Luke 22:24)

Coronavirus Update: Thankfully, a judge struck down Big Pharma’s request for a deadline of 2076 to release all of their test data for the mRNA shots. Their initial release (the first of many) shows there were nearly 158,000 adverse events from the shots prior to the emergency authorization. According to RFK Jr, even their own six-month trials showed that you are 500% more likely to die of a heart attack if you receive the shot. This is what the new world order is trying to distract us from by shifting the focus to the war in Ukraine, a war which they provoked when they started working toward making Ukraine part of NATO, something they promised never to do. All they would have to do to end the conflict is agree to make Ukraine neutral. That should be a viral meme: Neutral not NATO. If the war continues to escalate and leads to mass depopulation, all the better for them and their agenda. The Greeks had a proverb, “Those who the gods destroy they first make drunk with power.” According to Psalm 2, we have nothing to worry about. God is not worried. They are drunk with power and God is going to destroy them. Yet even the most corrupt of the new world order plutocracy can receive forgiveness if they repent and receive Christ (Ps 2:12). If you find yourself troubled by current events, that is an indication you need to spend less time worrying about the news and more time meditating on Scripture. Go to the Lord in prayer and ask Him to take your burden from you. He is able. If you see evil in the world that upsets you, don’t simply wash your hands as Pilate did. Wash someone’s feet.

The next time somebody accuses you of buying into ‘conspiracy theories’ that only stupid or gullible people will fall for, share these two quotes with them:

Commercial and political interests have systematically corrupted people through schools and the press.

John 12:37-50 — Coronavirus Part 13

Dear Friends,

With this post, we will finish John 12 and the last words of Jesus’ public ministry before his Passion. The keyword in this passage is believe. Pay special attention to how Jesus uses this word in the section below. Give us understanding Father, as we read your precious word. Have mercy on us Father, as we patiently wait for your Son to come back for us, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

John 12:37-50
37 ¶ But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him:

Miracles do not lead to faith. This was proven over and over in the Old Testament and reiterated here in the New Testament. It is the word of God that produces faith. So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

38 That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed?
39 Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again,
40 He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.
41 These things said Esaias, when he saw his glory, and spake of him.
42 ¶ Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue:
43 For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.
44 ¶ Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me.
45 And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me.
46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.
47 And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.
50 And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.
John 12:37-50

The words of Christ are life everlasting (v 50), which is why the new world order hates the Bible. Ie, because the new world order is a cult of death. Let’s get down to specifics: Life insurance companies in America saw an unprecedented 40% increase in the death rate among working-age people in 2021. (The majority of these deaths were not due to Covid-19.) According to The Times of India, in 2021, non-Covid insurance claims skyrocketed, with “heart attacks and cardiac arrests … up 40%.” These numbers, which are taking the insurance industry by surprise, surfaced immediately after the shots were rolled out. Furthermore, cancer cases in the US military are up 300% since the shots were mandated. These numbers clearly show that death and deadly diseases drastically increased immediately after the shots were rolled out.

Aside from the direct attack on our health, the shots are being used indirectly to impose economic sanctions. The shots are now mandated for truckers delivering to and from Mexico and Canada. These restrictions will have an adverse effect on these economies, much like the restrictions that adversely affected the incomes of individuals who were forced out of employment. These de facto sanctions are akin to acts of war. Ie, wars between nation-states usually begin with sanctions to weaken the economy. The effects of these de facto sanctions will be both harmful and intentional. Furthermore, the other far-reaching changes that have been taking place worldwide are all preparing the way for the four horsemen of the apocalypse. By constructing a surveillance grid with digital IDs and social credit scores, they are preparing the way for the Antichrist (white horse). By stoking tensions with Russia over inconsequential issues like Ukraine, they are preparing the way for the red horse (war). By intentionally cutting off trade, reducing the amount of available energy (one of the main topics of discussion at the recent meeting of the World Economic Forum), and depleting the freshwater reserves, they are developing the conditions required for the black horse (famine) and the pale horse (death). The mandates and passports have nothing to do with health. They are part of an overarching war on humanity. They are silent weapons for quiet wars. If you have eyes to see and ears to hear, you can see the implications of these unprecedented current events.

That brings me to the main point of this post. If you are a regular reader of these notes, I’m sure you know that the mRNA shots were developed using fetal tissue (eg HEK-293 cell lines). I’m sure you know that the mRNA shots contain ingredients that have not been disclosed, as the shots do not come with the ususal package inserts. I’m sure you know that the shots were never approved but only given ‘emergency authorization’ which is very different from FDA ‘approval’. These things should be enough to convince anyone not to take them but for a Christian, the matter is much more serious. Consider the following words of the apostle John and take special note of the Greek words used:

…..And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries [Gk pharmakeia] were all nations deceived.
Revelation 18:23

Strong’s Concordance 5331
pharmakeia: the use of medicine, drugs or spells
Original Word: φαρμακεία, ας, ἡ
Part of Speech: Noun, Feminine
Transliteration: pharmakeia
Phonetic Spelling: (far-mak-i’-ah)

…..For without [not allowed into heaven] are dogs, and sorcerers [Gk pharmakos], and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.
Revelation 22:15

Strong’s Concordance 5333
pharmakos: a poisoner, sorcerer, magician
Original Word: φάρμακος, οῦ, ὁ
Part of Speech: Noun, Masculine
Transliteration: pharmakos
Phonetic Spelling: (far-mak-os’)

I believe these two verses plainly show that the shots are part of the worldwide witchcraft (Gk pharmakeia; Lat pharmacy), or sorcery, that the new world order uses to deceive all nations. The ‘vaccine’ agenda is the lynchpin that holds their plans together. In many ways, the new world order is an extension of the Third Reich. The World Economic Forum has the same objective of world domination that the Third Reich did. Only the means to achieve this objective have changed. The spirit is the same. Much of the experimentation that took place in the Auschwitz concentration camp was geared toward inducing infertility, something the shots are clearly intended to do, as they disrupt women’s menstrual cycles and cause miscarriages. Moreover, we still have no idea what the long-term effects of these shots will be.

But what if you have already taken the shot or shots? First of all, you have not taken the mark of the beast. The mark of the beast will be implemented by the false prophet in the middle of the seven-year tribulation period. (Dan 9:27; 11:31; 12:11; Matt 24:15-21) It will be a mark in the right hand or forehead and be connected to the number 666. (Rev 13:16-18) Look into different ways to detoxify your body. Ask the Lord to repair your immune system and look into nutraceuticals along with a healthy organic diet. Settle it in your heart that you will not defile your temple with any further shots. Just because the shots are not the mark of the beast does not mean they are pleasing to our Lord. Use your discernment. Prepare your heart and your temple to meet the Lord. Above all, look to the word of God and believe on the gospel. [H]is commandment is life everlasting.

In closing, it has been ten years now since Bill Gates gave his infamous Ted Talk where he said he wanted to use vaccines to depopulate the earth. The shots are not only purging people out of the population, they are purging Christians out of the workforce in many places, out of the medical field in many places, out of the police force in many places, and out of the US military. Little by little, the walls keep closing in as they continue to restrict access in new ways for those who refuse the shots. It is more important than ever to resist and demand our human rights and dignity. It is more important than ever that we stand together with those who resist, like the truck drivers in Canada and worldwide who are resisting the mandates. We only need to resist a little longer, and Jesus will be back for us. These things indicate we are going home soon. (Luke 21:28) In the meantime, we must believe. If you believe on Jesus Christ and his promise of life everlasting in the world to come, the scheming of the new world order will not divert you from the narrow path that leads to the straight gate. If you believe your Bible, you are not going to be conformed to the new world order. You will be transformed by the renewing of your mind. If you believe on the precious promises prophesied to come in the kingdom age, you will hold fast to your faith and do your best to love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength. You will remember your identity in Christ and you will act accordingly. You will likewise walk accordingly: circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise (Eph 5:15). Let us prepare ourselves and be ready. (Rev 19:7) The way to prepare and make ourselves ready is to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. (John 6:29) The next five chapters of John will be ideal for this endeavor as we continue in our study.

Finally, although I have touched on a few key points concerning current events that relate to Bible prophecy, the truth is we have not even scratched the surface. We began this series on the coronavirus to look at different ways to determine the truth about news items. If nothing else, we have learned that the official narrative from the media (which has become the public-relations arm of the government) is a lie. In fact according to a recent poll, the US scored last out of 46 countries in trust of the media. One of the key ways that the media attempts to manipulate us is the way they try to acclimate us to the status quo. If you find yourself ‘getting used to’ the way things are, consider these words from someone who woke up one day and found herself in a Nazi death camp:

“People wonder, how is it we didn’t do something. We didn’t run away. We didn’t hide. Well, things didn’t happen at once. Things happened very slowly. So each time a new law came out or a restriction, we said, Well, just another thing, it will blow over.”
— Renée Firestone, Holocaust survivor

…..Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
…..For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
…..And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
1 John 2:15-17

…..For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:
…..Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.
Philippians 3:20, 21

…..Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
…..In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
…..And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
…..And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
…..Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
….. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
John 14:1-6

John 12:20-36 – The Way of the Cross

Dear Friends,

When we left off in Chapter 12 of John, Jesus had just entered Jerusalem on a donkey as the people cried Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord. The Pharisees were fit to be tied, but Jesus simply brushed them off and went about his business. Father, give us understanding as we continue in John’s Gospel. Speak to us through your word, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

John 12:20-36
20 ¶ And there were certain Greeks [Gk Hellenes] among them that came up to worship at the feast:

Just as Gentiles came to see Jesus after his birth, they now come to see Him before his death. John emphasizes that Jesus is the Saviour not just of Israel, but of the world. (John 1:29; 3:16; 4:42; 6:33; 8:12; 10:16; 11:51f.)

21 The same came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus.

The cancel culture was alive and well in Jerusalem, so much so that some were afraid to be seen with Jesus (v 42). These Greeks, or Greek-speaking proselytes from among the Gentiles, had no reason to fear the Pharisees since they would simply return to their own country. Solomon wrote The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe. In other words, it is safer to fear God and be canceled, than to fear man and keep your respectability. People need to see Jesus, and it is up to us to show Him to them, regardless of the consequences.

22 Philip cometh and telleth Andrew: and again Andrew and Philip tell Jesus.
23 And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified.
24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.
25 He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.
26 If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.
27 Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour.

Jesus, like Paul, is all things to all men. Rather than quoting Scripture, which these Greeks may not have been familiar with, Jesus gives them a parable that is scientific and philosophical in nature, something the Greeks would relate to. Jesus’ parable shows a fundamental principle of life in Christ — dying. Jesus said If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. (Luke 9:23) Therefore, Paul said I die daily. There is no getting around the cross for a Christian. We cannot climb over it, dig under it, or circumvent it in any other way. The only way for a Christian is to take up the cross, die to self, and follow Christ. When we do this, the fruit and rejoicing follow. If we choose to live for self, we will be without fruit and we will abide alone.

28 Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again. [*]
29 The people therefore, that stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered: others said, An angel spake to him.
30 Jesus answered and said, This voice came not because of me, but for your sakes.
31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.
32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.
33 This he said, signifying what death he should die.
34 The people answered him, We have heard out of the law that Christ abideth for ever: and how sayest thou, The Son of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of man?

The cross is an offense (Gal 5:11) and those to whom Jesus was speaking were offended. They understood his meaning and they did not want to hear that their Messiah was going to be lifted up from the earth. They were happy to cry Hosanna when He was riding into Jerusalem, but now that He is speaking of crucifixion, they are saying who is this Son of man?

35 Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.
36 While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.
John 12:20-36

In this passage, some Greeks come looking for an opportunity to meet Jesus. They approach the only disciple who had a Greek name, Philip. In turn, Jesus gives his last public teaching before He goes to the cross. Jesus gives this discourse just before Passover, as people from all around the Roman Empire have come up to worship. You might say He gives them the answer to the riddle of life: Look to the cross. Die to self and follow Christ.

Around four hundred years before the birth of Christ there lived a Greek philosopher named Socrates. Socrates lived in a time and place with many parallels to modern-day America. Athens had a pagan culture that worshiped the pantheon of gods who lived on Mount Olympus. Things were tense politically and there was much public debate. Although the Athenians treasured free speech and held it to be sacred, they were quick to cast it aside in the case of Socrates. Basically, the charges against Socrates amounted to forsaking the gods of the Athenians and corrupting the youth with his radical ideas. For example, Socrates introduced other new gods and he believed in being guided by an inner voice, rather than merely participating in festivals and sacrifices. Socrates had become very unpopular after some of his students became traitors to Athens. In other words, Socrates was tried for going against the official narrative of the day. He was found guilty by a vote of 280 to 221 and sentenced to death by drinking hemlock. I do not think I know the names of any of those who condemned him, but everyone has heard of Socrates. His ideas have had a major influence on Western culture. Although Socrates was not a Christian, he practiced what he preached and he did not fear death. He faced his sentence with courage. Therefore, his courage to live and die for his beliefs makes him an example for all.

“He is the richest who is content with the least.” ― Socrates

“Be the kind of person that you want people to think you are.” ― Socrates

“To believe without evidence and demonstration is an act of ignorance and folly” ― Socrates

“If you want to be wrong then follow the masses.” ― Socrates

“Why should we pay so much attention to what the majority thinks?” ― Socrates

“I am a fool, but I know I’m a fool and that makes me smarter than you.” ― Socrates

“Death will be an unspeakable gain.” ― Socrates

We see cases like that of Socrates throughout history. A wise person (or persons) persecuted and condemned by wicked men who think they are doing God (or the gods) service. Indeed, when the Dearest and Best, a Man who never wronged anyone but blessed us all, the only One who was ever truly innocent, our blessed Kinsman Redeemer — when He willingly left glory and came to save us, what did we do? We crucified Him. He came to show us the way and that way is the way of the cross. Jesus is unique in that He did not die as a martyr for his beliefs. His death was part of an overarching plan to save us all. He died in our place, paying the penalty for all our sins. As a perfect Sacrifice without spot or blemish, He was uniquely qualified to die in our place. When you receive Christ as your personal Saviour, his righteousness is imputed to your account. If you reject Him, you will die in your sins, separated from the God who created you for all eternity. If you receive Him, you will live with Him in glory for all eternity. However, before you receive the crown you must embrace the cross. That is what Jesus taught us as He led by example.

Much like many of the martyrs we read about in the history books, those who love the truth (Christians) are looking at an increasingly dangerous political climate in these last days. For example, the state of Washington is considering involuntary internment camps for those who refuse to comply with vaccine mandates. This, despite the fact that these mandates keep getting struck down by the courts. Whether anything will come of this is anyone’s guess, but the fact that they are even considering such a thing in America should tell us something about where things are headed. Things are getting darker as the night our Lord spoke of approaches (John 9:4), which makes his words above all the more important: Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth. While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light.

Father, help us to take up our crosses daily and follow You. We know and believe that your Son died for us and rose again. We know and believe He is coming back again. Help us to die to ourselves that we might live for You. We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

* Each of the three times that the Father spoke to the Son from heaven were connected to his death and resurrection: 1) His baptism spoke of his death and resurrection. 2) The transfiguration spoke of his death and resurrection. 3) The passage above speaks of his death and resurrection. The death and resurrection of Christ are how we find and know God.

John 8:31, 32 – 2021 in Review, 2022 in Preview

…..Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
…..And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
John 8:31, 32

By my count, John used some form of the word ‘true’ in his writings (John’s Gospel, 1 John, 2 John, 3 John, and The Revelation) approximately 82 times. Let us put on our belt of truth as we reflect on 2021 and look forward to 2022. There is bad news and we cannot sugarcoat it, but there is good news as well.

One year ago, as the sun was setting on 2020, I summarized the year by recapping the ubiquitous gaslighting we were subjected to as they launched an unprecedented biological attack against all humanity in the form of mRNA shots. They were just beginning to give the shots at that time. In 2021, everything the whistle-blowing experts warned us about was confirmed in spades via the government’s own VAERS database. The reported number of deaths is over 20,000 now, but studies conducted by Harvard and Columbia indicate that only between 1% and 5% (respectively) of the adverse events from the shots ever get reported. Therefore, the real number could be as high as two million. Whistleblowers have come forward saying they were instructed by their hospital supervisors not to report adverse events to the VAERS database. (You can see one nurse’s testimony at a Louisiana Health and Welfare hearing here.) So, not only is it true that the shots are killing people but there is also an effort to cover it up. Doctors who tell the truth are being harassed by licensing boards to have their licenses stripped. (Also see Dr Malone interview below.) Why is this happening?

In 2021, they continued the same false narratives working in tandem with the ‘emergency’ that Trump declared on March 13, 2020. This ‘emergency’ is necessary for their ‘emergency authorization’ of the mRNA shots. Without the ‘emergency’, the pharmaceutical companies have no legal cover under the PREP Act. If they admit there is no emergency, or say that the emergency is over, their shots have no legal cover to shield them from litigation. What they are doing is insanely criminal, but they do it under the color of law. The so-called mandates are highly criminal and violate all of the safeguards built into the medical system. That is why they are being struck down by judges, but by continuing to push the shots they continue to make people sick, and can therefore continue the emergency, which they need for legal cover. This may also explain why they gave emergency-approval for 16-year-olds. The National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act (NCVIA) of 1986 can now be used to shield them from lawsuits as well, even though the shots are especially dangerous for children.

Therefore, we also had the delta variant ‘emergency’, and now the omicron variant ‘emergency’. The symptoms from omicron are similar to a common cold, but again, they need justification to extend the emergency when it expires this month, just as they did last year. They can no longer claim that the shots stop the recipient from contracting COVID, so they simply claim it makes the infection less severe if you have received the shots. See how they keep changing their story? It all started with ‘two weeks to flatten the curve’. Then we were told the shots were 96% effective. People were promised they could go back to normal life if they took the shots. Then came the boosters and the need to keep the silly masks on. The truth is, the shots make it more likely that you will get sick in the first place, make you susceptible to strokes, heart attacks, and a plethora of other life-threatening illnesses. The truth is, the ‘boosters’ are no different from the first initial shots. The first two shots of the Moderna shot are 100 mcg. The booster is 50 mcg. That is the only difference. Some people are already on their fifth booster, looking forward to their sixth. That is the definition of insanity, since we know the shots do not work. Navy ships and cruise liners that are 100% vaccinated are experiencing outbreaks. Colleges that are 100% vaccinated are experiencing outbreaks. The places with the highest vaccination rates have the worst infection rates. (For example, compare Israel, one of the most highly vaccinated places, with their Palestinian neighbors, in one of the least vaccinated places.) Insanity is to keep doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results, therefore the boosters are insanity. According to Dr Peter McCullough, in many cases the human body can fight off the spike protein from the first two shots, but it is the booster that is the most dangerous of all because the immune system is too tired to keep fighting by that time.

Yet, much of the public is still under their spell, which causes people to act out in psychotic ways against people who resist the web of lies spun by the likes of Anthony Fauci. In 2021, more information about Fauci came out, how his AIDS experiments killed over two hundred orphans and how he tortured puppies in other experiments (not to mention perjuring himself before Congress).

In 2021 it was further confirmed that the lockdowns and masking are affecting children adversely in the extreme. These things lowered their IQs, stunted their development and motor skills, and caused psychological problems. This was written about by Dr Mark McDonald in his book, United States of Fear. The effects of this hysteria on society are incalculable, with children suffering most of all. Suicides continue to skyrocket. Yet many still seem to be oblivious to what is being done to us. Franklin Graham took the shots, and is now suffering from pericarditis, yet he still recommends the shots. We all have friends and family who are in denial. What is happening? It has been said it is easier to fool someone than to convince them they have been fooled. People fear being ostracized. They fear having to change their worldview. They fear feeling helpless or vulnerable. I think a lot of people are afraid to admit their government could treat them this way. They are afraid to confront the truth. However, the Bible tells us over and over not to be afraid. God promises to supply courage when we need it. (2 Tim 1:7)

2021 made it clear that our hopes of making America great again are gone. One of the main themes of Dragon Slayer Jesus Christ (a book I published in 2014) was that America as we know it no longer exists, as it continues to be incrementally displaced by the new world order. In 2021, Trump continued to shill for Big Pharma and push the shots. I will write in a candidate if I have to in 2024 but I will not vote for Trump again. It is clear now that the money that was used to buy off the governors and the hospitals and make the whole COVID hoax possible in the first place came from Trump. He passed his COVID-spending packages totaling upwards of $4.5 Trillion before leaving office. That is the sum total from the CARES Act and the Consolidated Appropriations Act. Some of that money went overseas to buy off foreign governments as well. It is not clear exactly how virtually all of the world’s governments with only a few exceptions were made to go along with the COVID hoax but they clearly did. The uniform lockstep nature of the COVID protocols worldwide shows the widespread proliferation of the new world order around the globe. I find it interesting that both Trump and Netanyahu lost their positions immediately after they began pushing the COVID agenda for Big Pharma and the new world order. It appears as if perhaps God had each of them in their positions for a reason, and after they caved He no longer had any reason to keep them there. Despite any achievements someone makes during his first three years in office, they do not matter once that person goes along with the new world order and promotes the shots. We all have friends and family who willingly took the shots. Whether Trump is like them, oblivious to the truth of the matter (not likely), or whether he has been compromised (more likely), the end result is the same: he cannot be trusted. Some believe Trump was installed as president in the first place to bring in the COVID agenda. I believe he was turned. When Trump wished Ghislaine Maxwell well in July of 2020 it was clear something was amiss. When Dr Scott Atlas was the one to resign and not Fauci, it was plain to see there was no going back to the pre-COVID Trump. The fact that the 2020 election was stolen in plain view without any serious efforts to do anything about it from our elected representatives seems almost arbitrary now in light of everything else that is happening. I want free and fair elections as much as anyone. I wanted to see our country turned around as much as anyone. But we need to be honest here. We have a lot bigger problems than that now. We are witnessing the rise of the new world order as their agenda shifts into high gear.

That brings us to what should have been one of the biggest stories of 2021, although the mainstream media treated it like a diversion. They covered the Rittenhouse proceedings — basically a routine case of self-defense — like it was the trial of the century, but when it came to a federal case involving the grooming, trafficking, and prostituting of American teenage girls, as part of an international spy/blackmail network … crickets. If there were any remaining doubts as to whether we can trust the media, the coverage of the Ghislaine Maxwell trial settles the issue. Earlier this week the jury found Maxwell guilty on all counts except one, and thus the coverup was complete. Consider just a few key points: First, the FBI seized over 40,000 images from hard drives connected to surveillance equipment at Epstein’s residence, but only 40 of these images were allowed to be used in the trial, nothing that was incriminating. Second, the lead prosecutor in the case was James Comey’s daughter. Third, out of all the victims they had available they only called four witnesses, none of which were granted immunity. In other words, what should have been used to take down the system and drain the swamp was swept under the rug. The conclusion of the Maxwell trial was a fitting end to 2021, encapsulating the new world order takeover of America in a nutshell.

If there was any doubt remaining about the media being new world order, in 2021 we also had them in partnership with Big Pharma denying us life-saving Ivermectin, a wonder drug that fetched a Nobel prize and has been used on humans for decades. All those ‘ask your doctor’ commercials are where the bulk of the money comes from to buy off the media. They are not going to bite the hand that feeds them.

These are what I consider the most noteworthy events of 2021. Other stories could be mentioned, like the political prisoners from January 6, for example. (By the way, the FBI was involved in the initial violence on that day. The boss of the disgraced FBI agent who orchestrated the attempted kidnapping of Governor Whitmer was promoted to the DC Field Office and is now in charge of all January 6 cases.) Suffice it to say that the events I have listed are the most relevant in terms of what is coming next.

The Romans named the month of January after Janus, the god of transitions who looked both backward and forward. We not only need to look back and consider how we got here, but forward, to consider where all this is leading. To get a more comprehensive picture of how we got here, I have ordered RFK Jr’s book, The Real Anthony Fauci, and Dr Scott Atlas’s book, A Plague on Our House. The key takeaway is that we are all being steered in the same direction, whether we submit or resist, all the lanes are leading to the same place. Whether we watch Tucker Carlson or Rachel Maddow, we are being led into a world where you will need a vaccine passport for buying and selling. It is already in use in many places, brought in under false pretenses in the name of COVID. By the time they finally admit the whole thing was overblown and unnecessary (that is how the highly predictive SPARS report ends), they will have achieved their goal of a worldwide medical ID. Central banks are already developing digital currencies to be used in tandem with this system. This will be the precursor to the mark of the beast. This is where all the lanes on this road lead to. However, off to the side of the broad road that leads to destruction, an exit leads to a narrow path leading to a straight gate. This is the only path that avoids their inevitable conclusion. Jesus is that narrow path. Jesus is the way out.

Moving forward, the key to navigating 2022 will be the same as it has always been: Remain loyal to the Truth above all else. As Christians we have a duty based on sacred trust to remain loyal to the Truth. Let us discuss how to live that out in a practical way.

First of all, we do not have to ask for permission to do what is right. The people in the Bible who we look to as heroes in the faith did not ask permission to do what is right. They just did it. The midwives who resisted Pharaoh’s orders to kill the Hebrew children did not ask for permission. They simply refused to follow Pharaoh’s instructions. (Ex 1) The list goes on and on. In order to do what is right you have to know what is right. First and foremost, that means knowing our Bibles, but it also means recognizing who we can trust.

Ultimately, we can only trust God. We need to ask ourselves, Is Jesus really our Master like we say He is? Do we really trust Him like we say we do? Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah did. When they had to decide whether to trust Him, or bow down to a graven image, they told their master, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter. If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.

That is the kind of faith we need to have. We need to settle it in our hearts that we will not go along with the new world order no matter what they do to us. They want to take everything from us. They want our cars, they want our steaks, they want our money, and they want to force us into the metaverse, but they especially want our children. Most of all, however, they want our souls. We need to settle it in our hearts that they cannot have our children or our souls, no matter what they try to do to us. Homeschooling should be the top priority for parents in 2022, but I’m sure some are wondering how they can make ends meet. With skyrocketing inflation and many being forced out of jobs, how can we live?

Early in my walk with Christ I read the biography of George Müller, who never asked for money, yet God used him to support thousands and thousands of orphans. When you trust God, He really does provide. I lost my job managing a print shop in March of 2020 when they locked everything down. I left Los Angeles (where the chief of police now says to stay away because the city is too dangerous) and ended up living on a ranch training and caring for horses and other animals. I lived on the ranch for a year and as a result of moving horses around the country, I ended up getting a commercial driver’s license. I now have one of the best jobs I’ve ever had with no shots required. This has pretty much been the story of my life since I received Christ over 25 years ago. I have moved around from place to place, often broke and not knowing why I was going where I was going, only to see that God really does provide when you trust Him and follow where He leads. If I eventually end up losing my job over restrictions, so be it. I trust my God, wherever He may lead.

The key is to resist. Don’t give in. Trust God. The title to Dr McDonald’s book, The United States of Fear, really gets to the heart of the problem: Fear is what got us into this mess in the first place. If we would not have been afraid of an irrelevant pathogen that is no worse than the flu for the vast majority of us, we would have never been put in this position. If we would not have feared the government but feared God, we would not be in this position, but here we are. They are marching forward with their agenda, claiming they have the authority to upend civilization because of ‘cases’. I have written at length in previous posts about why ‘cases’ are irrelevant. We need to just ignore these people and live our lives as we did in 2019, to the extent we can. The damage is already done and we are going to start seeing the effects multiplied in 2022, not only on people’s health, but the economic well-being of society. As Christians, we deal with challenges as they come, but we never give in to fear. Jesus tells us over and over not to be afraid.

In 2022 we will continue to see more heart attacks and strokes in those who are vaccinated as the cases of thrombosis, myocarditis, and pericarditis increase. These things will be either be blamed on the unvaccinated or else just said to be ‘rare’. These things are not rare though. There are already nearly 300 cases of professional athletes experiencing major heart problems following their shots. This is why they want to keep the data from their mRNA trials secret for 75 years. If people are allowed to see that data it will be plain to see what is causing all the strokes and heart attacks, not to mention all the other horrible adverse events, from losing limbs to blindness and hearing loss to death.

The good news is that those who have had the virus and recovered have antibodies that give them natural immunity and the variants are getting less dangerous. South Africa reported no deaths for omicron and lifted restrictions.

So where does that leave us? I believe that we are very close to the great tribulation period, and therefore the rapture of the church. In 2021 the Pentagon began openly advancing the UFO narrative and NASA even hired a priest (and 23 other theologians) to explore how people will react if alien life is discovered. This looks like preparations for the strong delusion (2 Thess 2:11) that will be used to explain the rapture. When I say ‘very close’ I mean in our lifetime. That is what I have always believed. That is the good news. And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. (Rom 13:11) Other good news is that more people seem to be waking up. A lot of people have gone looking for answers and placed their faith in Christ, but even if we were to experience a great revival, it would be too little, too late. That is what God said about the revival that took place in Josiah’s day. (2 Kings 23:25ff) When you consider the implications of all that has taken place over the last two years, there is one inescapable conclusion: the US is ripe for judgment. This is particularly clear considering what is being done to the children. The good news is that in the Bible, times of judgment always coincide with times of deliverance. Whether deliverance comes sooner or later, however, with what we are facing we need to cling to our Bibles and our relationship with Christ more than ever. We must look to the power of prayer. If you were a tank commander in a tank battalion, you would not be very successful if you did not get in your tank and use it. We have a tremendous amount of power at our disposal through prayer, but only if we pray.

Father, as we begin 2022, give us the courage of David, the strength of Samson, and the faith of Abraham. I pray for those who have committed these crimes against humanity to be brought to justice. I pray for all who received the shots, that You will strengthen their immune systems. I pray that You will use the tragedies resulting from these policies to draw people closer to your Son. I pray we can have a revival. Give us the wisdom to make good decisions, direct our paths, and supply all our need according to your riches and glory in Christ Jesus in 2022. Give us the courage to stand for the truth. We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

How to use a home nebulizer (diluted iodine or hydrogen peroxide to easily kill the virus where it lives in the nose if you are coming down with COVID-19.)

PS: According to Dr Peter McCullough, you do not even need a nebulizer, just a little spray bottle. I bought a little bottle of nasal spray, emptied it out, and replaced the solution with a diluted solution of ordinary iodine. Dr McCullough recommends 1/2 teaspoon of iodine per 1 oz of water. Then spray whenever you travel or are around people, or if you are starting to feel ill. Spit out any that leaks down into the throat.

John 1:14 – The Word Became Flesh

…..And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
John 1:14

Dear Friends,

2021 has been quite a year, for most of us better than 2020, a time of change and preparing, ie preparing to meet our Lord and preparing to endure should He tarry. In my walk, as well as in the lives of other Christians I have been in contact with, I see the Lord directing our paths.

If things are hard for you this Christmas, imagine Joseph and Mary, having to travel to Bethlehem while pregnant without a car. They probably had donkeys but they were still forced into a very uncomfortable and difficult situation by a very oppressive government. I believe that for us, just as for them, the hassles that we are being subjected to will end in joy with the coming of our Lord. For us, some have lost loved ones to the shots, or other criminal practices of a corrupt system. For them, some had lost family members to crucifixion by the Roman Empire. After a hard journey from Nazareth to Bethlehem and searching for a place to stay, only to end up in a stable with Mary going into labor, their sorrow was quickly turned to joy when JESUS was born, and visitors started showing up to worship Him. Things were put into perspective as they beheld our King. Let us keep our eyes on Christ, that we may keep things in perspective.

Father, thank You for the hope we have of an eternity with You in the New Jerusalem and the world to come, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Isaiah 28:15-18 – Coronavirus Part 12

Dear Friends,

In the past, while preparing my notes I have had my computer taken over as if the delete key was held down, only the cursor deleted much faster than it would have if the delete key was stuck. Around that same time, WND reported about a journalist who had the same thing happen to her. The enemy does not want you to receive this information. Read this week’s notes prayerfully and share the information with your prayer partners.

I recently spoke to one of my oldest and closest Christian friends, from back when I used to live in San Diego. Her name is Terry. Terry is in one of the at-risk demographics for COVID. She told me she contracted COVID at the beginning of the plandemic and almost died. She then shared a vision that God gave her when she was on death’s doorstep.

Terry lost a friend who died at the hospital on a ventilator so she decided to just stay home and pray. (For more on the improper use of ventilators for COVID patients, see nurse Erin Olszewski’s testimony or get her book.) Terry said in her darkest hour, when she thought she was going to die, she had a vision of a red horse that was wildly out of control, rushing about and stamping on people and killing them. It was then that God came to her and shielded her, saying “No, you cannot have her. Her life belongs to Me.” (Terry was crying at this point as she was telling me this.) God then told her to “Tell everyone about Jesus.”

What follows is documentation corroborating Terry’s vision, but first, let us consider our text.

In our study on Isaiah 28, I pointed out how the elite have made a covenant with death, the same way Israel had. At that time I had no idea how fast their covenant with death was going to accelerate. For Israel and Judah, it ended in the Assyrian captivity and the Babylonian captivity. In our day, it will end with the worldwide captivity of MYSTERY BABYLON, but as Christians we have nothing to fear. We have the promise of the blessed hope (2 Tim 1:7; Tit 2:13).

Father, give us understanding as we consider your precious and perfect word. Make us sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Direct our paths, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Isaiah 28:15-18
15 Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves:
16 ¶ Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation [the Lord Jesus Christ]: he that believeth shall not make haste [in other words, Christians should be patient].
17 Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.
18 ¶ And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it.
Isaiah 28:15-18

According to Dr Vladimir Zelenko, the COVID jabs are premeditated first-degree murder. Through a statistical analysis of the VAERS data, Dr Zelenko estimates that upwards of 700,000 Americans have already been killed by the shots. The long-term effects will undoubtedly further compound this number, but it is impossible to say how much since there have not been any long-term studies. Regardless, less than a year into this experiment, we already have myocarditis cases, even in pro athletes. Then they are shamed for having the audacity to say the shot harmed them after their careers are ruined. VITT, capillary leak syndrome, and various mystery conditions are cropping up as well (see here and here). Meanwhile, the case for natural immunity keeps getting stronger. After a FOIA request, the CDC was forced to admit they have no record of any unvaccinated individual ever spreading COVID post-recovery. What all these stories have in common is how the media spins them as if nothing is amiss. George Orwell warned us about this. In 1984, it was Winston’s job to doctor the news for Big Brother. The media have to mention the school closings, but they simply say teachers are ‘stressed out’ and ‘exhausted’. However, buried in the article is also the fact that these same teachers are suffering from ‘headaches’, ‘anxiety’, and ‘nausea’. I don’t think there is any question that there is a link to the shots. Are the shots not also linked to the heart attacks at the Travis Scott concert? But it gets worse. According to the FDA, tromethamine is now being added to the Pfizer children’s COVID shots in place of the regular saline buffer (see page 14). To quietly add a stabilizing agent that has been subject to recalls for causing blood clots to shots for kids is next-level insanity. Tromethamine has been in the Moderna shot from the beginning. Could this be the very reason some countries have banned the Moderna shot for young people because of concerns over heart problems? And Moderna is testing their shots on infants now. We are dealing with very disturbed people here. I cannot say it any more plainly than that. The system will attack and demonize people like Aaron Rodgers who refuse the shots and speak sense, yet the CDC director refuses to say whether the CDC themselves actually take the shots.

At the pace things are accelerating, we really have no idea how much more time we may have. The important thing is to tell everyone about Jesus. As long as we are here though, we need to take measures to protect ourselves. Bill Gates has warned that a smallpox attack is coming. Considering how we were told in advance that COVID was coming, we should take these types of statements seriously. We also have the shedding of viruses from the vaccinated to consider. The shots are causing a condition similar to AIDS, which stands for Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome. The shots are weakening the immune system of those who take them. Magic Johnson tested positive for HIV in 1991 by means of the same flawed PCR test that they have been using for SARS-CoV-2. The same Tony Fauci who is pushing shots on us pushed AZT on Magic Johnson. Johnson became very sick after taking AZT so he stopped the treatment. He regained his normal health and went on to win a gold medal in the 1992 Olympics. Others like Freddie Mercury who continued their AZT treatments were not so lucky. Likewise, COVID deaths are soaring in some of the places with the most people taking the shots, like Singapore, while the places with the least shots are faring well.

Even if the shots were safe and effective, they are still nevertheless being used to create a system where you will need a vaccine passport (which will also be a carbon allowance passport) for buying and selling. In some countries, like Lithuania, for example, they are already half way there. The only option left for those who refuse the shots is to order food to their homes online. Scientific American recently published an article stating what I wrote about in Coronavirus Part 6, what we have been told for the last year is a conspiracy theory: They want to mark us with invisible ink as proof of vaccination. Rice University says it is like a “bar-code tattoo.” Is this is what Gates meant when he said “We need a new way of doing the vaccines”? This could very well be the mark of the beast. (See notes on John 3:17-21). Maybe it will not be the positive identification microchip, but a vaccine tattoo patch, a scannable dot matrix on the right hand or forehead, linked to a social-credit-score-enhanced worldwide medical ID that proves you have the shot in order to buy and sell.

In closing, this is what I use to boost my immune system:

Zinc 50 mg per day (can increase up to 200 mg if not feeling well)
C 1000 mg (up to 5000 mg is recommended)
D 1000 IU (up to 5000 IU is recommended)
A 10,000 IU
Selenium 200 mcg

If you need to battle COVID or something similar, remember that all therapeutics are not created equal. For example, this chart shows the superiority of Ivermectin ($1 per course) compared to Remdesivir ($3,120 per course). If you must go to the hospital, carefully read what you are given to sign. Some hospitals are reportedly giving consent forms to be vaccinated buried within the paperwork.

Finally, I know it is hard to believe that this is really happening, but it is. If you have a biblical worldview, you understand [t]he heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked (Jer 17:9). People tend to project their own values on others. Since they could not fathom doing such things, they find it hard to believe that others could. The Bible says they can. History proves they can. All the things I write about in these updates are a matter of public record, yet much of the public is oblivious to what is happening. They were oblivious in Nazi Germany as well. They did not know about the death camps. Why? Because they did not want to know. The same is true of us. Our holocaust started in 1973, but that is only half of the story. To see how bad our sins really are, read this Lifesitenews article about how fetal cells are used in the shots. We have sown to the wind, and we are about to reap the whirlwind. Tell everyone about Jesus.

Correction 11/17/21: The Scientific American article was published in December 2019, not ‘recently’. I don’t believe that makes much difference though. Tell everyone about Jesus.

Addendum 11/18/21: This post would not be complete without mentioning something from this article from Lifesite news as well:

At this year’s World Health Summit in Berlin, which took place in October, Stefan Oelrich, president of Bayer’s Pharmaceuticals Division, said “We are really taking that leap – us as a company, Bayer – in cell and gene therapies … ultimately the mRNA vaccines are an example for that cell and gene therapy. I always like to say: if we had surveyed two years ago in the public – ‘would you be willing to take a gene or cell therapy and inject it into your body?’ – we probably would have had a 95% refusal rate.”

So in other words, he finally admitted what we all knew (and I posted) from the beginning of the plandemic: They lied to us by calling the shots ‘vaccines’. It was just marketing to make people accept something they would not have otherwise.

The summit in Berlin was an fitting venue for Oelrich to make his comments, since Bayer originally began as a Nazi company that supported the Third Reich.

John 12:1-19 – The Lamb of God That Taketh Away the Sin of the World

Dear Friends,

Although we are only a little more than halfway through John’s Gospel, we are less than a week away from Jesus’ death and resurrection. John will dedicate the rest of his Gospel to the last week of Jesus’ earthly life, except for the last two chapters on his resurrection.

As Chapter 12 opens, we see an intimate gathering where Jesus shares koinonia with some of his closest friends, knowing that soon He will go to the cross. Father, give us understanding as we read thy word, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

John 12:1-19
1 Then Jesus six days before the passover came to Bethany, where Lazarus was which had been dead, whom he raised from the dead.

Here is another one of John’s references to what day it was. As usual, we will see John has a good reason for this.

2 There they made him a supper; and Martha served: but Lazarus was one of them that sat at the table with him.
3 Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment.

Pastor Jon Courson notes that here we have three important components of the church: a.) Martha working, b.) Lazarus witnessing, and c.) Mary worshiping. (1)

First let us look at a.) working. Martha had the gift of helps (1 Cor 12:28). That may be a bit of a stretch, since the Holy Spirit was not yet given, but nevertheless, helps is a great gift. When a church has people volunteering to help out there is a vibrant atmosphere of koinonia that blesses the community in a powerful way.

Next, we have b.) witnessing. We do not have any of Lazarus’ words recorded, but his presence alone was a witness (vv 9, 11). It should be so with us. People should see new life in a Christian that it is a witness for Jesus. Witness is not only a verb, but a noun as well: But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. The word witness is translated from the Greek word, martus, where we get our word ‘martyr’. Your life should be a witness for Jesus and if necessary, your death too.

Finally, we have c.) worship. Mary’s act of worship is also recorded in Matthew 26 and Mark 14, where we learn that this scene takes place in the home of Simon the leper. We also learn that Mary not only anointed Jesus’ feet but his head as well. In that day, 300 pence (v 5; Lat denarii) was worth about a year’s wages for an average working man. According to Strong, one silver denarius weighed 53 grams in Nero’s time. At today’s silver prices, 300 denarii would be worth about US $13,588. Why did Mary not use her box to prepare Lazarus’ body for burial the week before? Because she was saving it for Jesus’ burial (v 7). When Jesus spoke of his impending death (John 8:28 et al) his disciples did not understand, even when He spelled it out for them (Luke 9:45). But Mary understood. Mary understood a great deal. She wiped his feet with her hair, which went against the social conventions of that day. It was considered immodest for a Jewish woman to let down her hair in public. Mary does not care though. She lays her glory at his feet (1 Cor 11:15). She wants to give Jesus her best, and she is criticized for it, by none other than the disciples (v 5; cf Matt 26:8)! If you give your all for Jesus, do not be surprised if a pastor or someone else in leadership criticizes you. They criticized Mary too, but Jesus said Let her alone: against the day of my burying hath she kept this. The same thing likewise happened to David when he wanted to give his all for the Lord. His wife criticized him for it. (2 Sam 6) As a result, she was barren unto the day of her death. Contrary to what the critics said, Jesus defended Mary and received her worship:

…..Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman hath done, be told for a memorial of her. Matthew 26:1

This box of ointment may have even been something that was supposed to be kept for Mary’s dowry. In worshiping Jesus, Mary gave what was probably her life savings. In turn, it blessed not only Jesus, but the odour, or fragrance, filled the house and blessed all who were present. J Vernon McGee commented that we as Christians ought to break our alabaster boxes (Matt 26:6) as well. If we step out in faith and give our best for Jesus as Mary did, we will not only bless the Lord, but ourselves and others as well.

4 Then saith one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, which should betray him,
5 Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor?
6 This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein.
7 Then said Jesus, Let her alone: against the day of my burying hath she kept this.
8 For the poor always ye have with you; but me ye have not always.
9 Much people of the Jews therefore knew that he was there: and they came not for Jesus’ sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead.
10 ¶ But the chief priests consulted that they might put Lazarus also to death;

Is it any wonder Jesus called them children of the devil? (John 8:44) Even his rebuke was an act of love. He was showing tough love, which was exactly what they needed. Many of the priests eventually believed. (Acts 6:7; cf 15:5)

11 Because that by reason of him many of the Jews went away, and believed on Jesus.
12 ¶ On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,

Above we are told that Jesus arrived in Bethany six days before the passover. After the sunset, it would have been the next day. So when we read about the dinner party at the house of Simon the leper, that would have been five days before the Passover. Now it was the next day after that, four days before the Passover, or the 10th of Nisan, also known as ‘Lamb Selection Day’ (Ex 12:1-3).

Thousands and thousands of lambs were pouring into the city of Jerusalem. According to Abraham Mutholath, the Passover lamb was usually taken to Jerusalem by way of Bethphage. Jesus likewise entered Jerusalem by way of Bethphage (Matt 21:1 et al), as He is the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. As worshipers from across the empire were selecting their lambs for the Passover, Jesus was presenting Himself to the nation of Israel as the Passover Lamb. The lamb had to be perfect and without blemish, and Jesus was so judged. (Luke 23:4)

13 Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.

The people crying Hosanna (lit Save now) are quoting Psalm 118:25, 26. Luke tells us that the Pharisees told Jesus to rebuke his disciples, but He replied I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out. The Bible says that we Christians are stones, living stones (1 Pet 2:5). When they stop giving glory to Jesus it is up to us to cry out.

Matthew tells us that after Jesus entered Jerusalem, children continued to cry Hosanna in the temple. This caused the Pharisees to be sore displeased (Matt 21:15), but Jesus said Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?

14 And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written,
15 Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass’s colt.
16 These things understood not his disciples at the first: but when Jesus was glorified, then remembered they that these things were written of him, and that they had done these things unto him.
17 The people therefore that was with him when he called Lazarus out of his grave, and raised him from the dead, bare record.
18 For this cause the people also met him, for that they heard that he had done this miracle.
19 The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, Perceive ye how ye prevail nothing? behold, the world is gone after him. [Cf Pr 27:4]
John 12:1-19

Jesus fulfilled Zecharaiah 9:9 when He rode into Jerusalem on the donkey, but what about those palm branches? According to the apocryphal books of 1 and 2 Maccabees, 200 years before Jesus rode into Jerusalem the palm branch was a symbol of national pride and triumph over tyranny. After Judas Maccabee liberated Jerusalem from Antiochus Epiphanes, a type of the antichrist, the people waved palm branches in celebration after the temple was cleansed. (2 Macc 10:7)

In other words, not only was Judas Iscariot following Jesus under false pretenses, using his position to embezzle funds from the treasury, but the people singing Hosanna were worshiping Jesus for the wrong reason. They were expecting Him to deliver them from Caesar Tiberius just as Judas Maccabee delivered them from Antiochus Epiphanes. Jesus will eventually crush Rome (MYSTERY BABYLON) and they will wave palm branches in heaven in celebration. (Rev 7:9) At this time, however, Jesus does not intend to overthrow Rome. The crowd is not going to be pleased. In four days, they will change their cry of Hosanna to Crucify him.

In closing, Jesus said his kingdom is not of this world. The kingdoms of this world are destined to fail. Jesus is the ROCK cut without hands, that will smash the kingdoms of this world, reducing them to dust like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors. Jesus’ kingdom will be like a mountain that fills the earth. (Dan 2:34f) Jesus’ kingdom will last forever. The best we can hope for until then is the freedom to share the gospel and live in peace. This freedom is being severely threatened in our day but Jesus tells us not to worry. He is still in control. The people in our passage above were under the yoke of Rome. They saw their Saviour crucified but God was in control. He quickly turned that situation around. It has been said that at Calvary, Satan did his worst, and God did his best. God turned the tables and used it for his glory. Things may look dark in our day, but God can turn the tables for his glory today just as He did then. Just as then, we may need to brace for the worst before God does his best. Time will tell. Meanwhile, we need to keep working, witnessing, and worshiping.

Finally, what if you have never received the free gift of everlasting life? (John 3:16) You don’t have to look like one of these lovely people in our text. In Luke 7, a woman who was a notorious sinner did the same thing that Mary did, brought an alabaster box of precious ointment to Jesus. She washed his feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. Jesus received her just as He did Mary and He will receive you too. All He asks is that you repent, which means to change your mind. If you want the free gift, pray this prayer:

Father, forgive me. I receive your Son as my personal Saviour; Lord Jesus, please come into my heart. Take control of my life. Thank You for the precious blood You shed for me on Calvary. I pray this in your holy and precious name. Amen.

Magog Update: If you are a regular reader of these notes, you have observed that we regularly keep tabs on the players listed in Ezekiel 38, 39. In these two chapters, Ezekiel predicts that an invasion of Israel will take place that will be led by Russia (Magog) and her leader (Gog). Russia is joined by an alliance that includes Iran (Persia) and a host of other Islamic nations. The one player that does not seem to fit is Cush, translated as Ethiopia in the KJV. However, as I have previously noted, Ethiopia has been engulfed in a civil war and the situation is fluid. Today, the US began evacuating US personnel from Ethiopia, as it looks like the capital may soon fall to the TPLF, a far-left military organization (along with other military organizations that have recently signed a pact of alliance with the TPLF in Washington DC). It is believed (and supported by Scripture) that the Magog Invasion is post-rapture (more here). Therefore, the more the chessboard seems to be positioning for the Magog invasion, the closer we are to the rapture of the church. We will keep an eye on Ethiopia to see how the situation develops.

John 12:46 – What If Everyone Was A Christian?

…..I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.
John 12:46

Dear Friends,

Greetings in Christ!

Question: What would happen if you had an entire community where everyone was a Christian? How might they handle a health crisis compared to the rest of the world?

By the way, you do not find autism among the Amish either. Father, your Son is the light of the world. May all your people walk in his light and escape the coming night, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

John 11:36-57 – Believe

Dear Friends,

Greetings in Christ!!! This week as we conclude John 11 we will look at some of the implications of Jesus’ miracle that we have not yet considered. When we last left off, Jesus wept for his friends and the loss they suffered. As we pick back up, we can see this did not go unnoticed by the people who were present.

Father, give us understanding as we read thy word, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

John 11:36-57
36 Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him!
37 And some of them said, Could not this man, which opened the eyes of the blind, have caused that even this man should not have died?
38 Jesus therefore again groaning in himself cometh to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it.
39 Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days.
40 Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?

God has a way of doing the impossible, not just in Bible times but today in the lives of all who trust in Him. If God made you a promise He will keep it. The devil will try to convince you it cannot possibly be true; that there is no way that certain person will ever love you back; that there is no way you will ever be used to lead those people to Christ; that we can not possibly escape this downward spiral into the abyss of the new world order. The key to obtaining these (or any other) promises from God is to not give up. The only way to persevere and lay hold of a promise when it looks impossible is to believe that the promise is true. If you do not believe that person will love you back, or that you will be used for the ministry, or that God will deliver you from the new world order, you are likely to give up. Belief is the key. Sometimes there will be a long period of suffering involved, or what the bible calls longsuffering. Or like in the case of Lazarus, Jesus may grant you an instant miracle.

41 Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.
42 And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.

Most of what Jesus did on earth was aimed at increasing our faith; at least the events John chose to include were (John 20:30f). The miracles He performed gave people the faith to persevere through the persecutions that followed in the first century. Because of their faith, how they were willing to die knowing that they were dying for the truth, my faith is increased all the more. Things may get pretty dark before Jesus fetches us back home, but I am confident that any persecution that comes our way will only benefit the church, ie strengthen it and make it grow.

43 And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.

Jesus calls Lazarus by name. If He would have simply said, Come forth, the other dead bodies in the tombs would have tried to come forth too, with their stones still in place blocking them.

44 And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.
45 Then many of the Jews which came to Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed on him.
46 But some of them went their ways to the Pharisees, and told them what things Jesus had done.

In John 1:48 we saw Jesus demonstrate his omniscience. In John 3:13, we saw He is also omnipresent. By raising Lazarus from the dead, Jesus demonstrated that He is omnipotent as well. Despite all this, some still did not believe. One of the hardest things to accept as a believer is when others do not receive the gospel. This can be especially hard when dealing with family members. The truth of the matter is that there are some who will never believe. That does not mean that we should give up on them; it just means it is out of our hands. We cannot even save ourselves, let alone anyone else. Those who ran to tell the Pharisees may have believed and repented later after Jesus died and rose again. Likewise, you may have to wait until after you die for some of the people on your prayer list to believe and be saved.

47 ¶ Then gathered the chief priests and the Pharisees a council, and said, What do we? for this man doeth many miracles.
48 If we let him thus alone, all men will believe on him: and the Romans shall come and take away both our place and nation.
49 And one of them, named Caiaphas, being the high priest that same year, said unto them, Ye know nothing at all,
50 Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.
51 And this spake he not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation;

In verse 50, it sounds like Caiaphas is speaking of murdering Jesus to save Israel from the Romans if too many people believe on Jesus (v 48), but verse 51 shows that God was speaking through him, because he was in the position of the high priest. He was prophesying the birth of the church (v 52; cf Eph 2:11-17).

52 And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one [both Jew and Gentile] the children of God that were scattered abroad.
53 Then from that day forth they took counsel together for to put him to death.
54 Jesus therefore walked no more openly among the Jews; but went thence unto a country near to the wilderness, into a city called Ephraim, and there continued with his disciples.
55 ¶ And the Jews’ passover was nigh at hand: and many went out of the country up to Jerusalem before the passover, to purify themselves.
56 Then sought they for Jesus, and spake among themselves, as they stood in the temple, What think ye, that he will not come to the feast?
57 Now both the chief priests and the Pharisees had given a commandment, that, if any man knew where he were, he should shew it, that they might take him.
John 11:36-57

Despite the sinister nature of their plotting against Jesus, it was all part of God’s plan of redemption. (Acts 2:23; 1 Pet 1:20; Rev 3:8) As we conclude Chapter 11, I am reminded of the promise in Romans 8:28: And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. There are people in high places today, in principalities both physical and spiritual, as well as lower-level municipalities and townships, who are planning sinister things against the body of Christ. Although it may look like they are succeeding, they are not. It looked that way when they crucified our Lord, but three days later, He rose from the dead. We have this same promise of victory in our future as well. They wanted to kill Lazarus because of his wonderful and mighty testimony (John 12:10), but he had already died once. Killing him again seems a little futile, does it not? Could not Jesus have simply resurrected him again? The same is true of us. If they kill us they only speed us on our way to be with Christ. We will be raised again in glory with the first resurrection. Whatever they do to us, whatever they may take away from us, we have the promise of life in the world to come. Whatever you can recollect as the best day you ever had on earth or could have in your wildest dreams, maybe with an amazing landscape in Oahu and the person of your choice to spend it with, it pales in comparison to the worst day in heaven when we are together with our King for all eternity. In the meantime, consider that the word believe (or some form of it) appeared three times in this week’s text, eight times total in John 11. Again, John wrote his Gospel so we would believe: But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name (John 20:31). Believing that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God is the first step. Next, God wants us to grow from baby Christians into Christian soldiers. He wants us to believe in the promises He has in store for us. If God made you a promise, believe it. God will keep his end of the bargain as long as you keep yours and don’t give up.

Prophecy Update: This week’s notes are fitting as we need to keep current events in perspective. The new world order is shifting their plan for worldwide domination into high gear. If you have been following recent news items you may be feeling discouraged or fearful. That is what the enemy wants and if you give in to it, you are falling into his trap. In Revelation 13:2, John saw the full-blown New World Order as a beast that was like unto a leopard. I have always believed that this aspect of the worldwide beast system shows how fast it will rise to power, like a leopard stalking its prey. Indeed, things are now moving forward at brake-neck speed. COVID is simply a manufactured excuse to accelerate the process. This documentary explains in detail.

The important thing is not to give in to fear. The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion (Pr 28:1). And again: For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind (2 Tim 1:7). The Lord has forewarned us and told us what to do:

Nation [Gk ethnos] shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven. But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name’s sake. And it shall turn to you for a testimony. Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer: For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist. And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death. And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake. But there shall not an hair of your head perish. In your patience possess ye your souls. And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto. For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people. And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. (Luke 21:10-28)

Much of the above passage will be fulfilled in the great tribulation period. The good news is that the church, the bride of Christ, does not have to go through the great tribulation period. What kind of groom would tell his bride he is going to beat her senseless for seven years (or technically three and a half) before he marries her? Certainly not our Jesus. Enoch was raptured before the flood. Lot and his family were delivered before God destroyed Sodom. Jesus will deliver us before He unleashes his wrath. Now is the time to prepare ourselves. (Rev 19:7)
